Countdown to the start of the 2012 Season:

  • UNDER ARMOUR All-America Game:    Isaac Seumalo has been chosen as one of 90 high school senior football players from across the country to play in the 2012 Under Armour All-America Game.  The game will we be played this Thursday, January 5, 2012 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida and will be televised by ESPN at 5 p.m.   Seumalo has been ranked as the No. 2 offensive guard in the country and the 65th best player in the ESPNU 150 list.  He has verbally committed to Oregon State.  Check out the games website for more information: http://UnderArmourGame.com

  • GAME 11-First Round-Corvallis vs. Wilsonville:    The Spartans struggled early and allowed two touchdowns by the Wildcats before they managed to get on the board.  After making it a six point game, Wilsonville responded quickly with a big touchdown run to make it 7-20 at the half.  The Wildcats then returned the opening kickoff of the second half and the Spartans never recovered from there.  The 2011 season came to an end.  Final score, 7-27.

  • 2011 Season Pictures: Thanks to the hard work of Shelley Brown once again, some 2011 season photos are already available for your viewing. click here for photos

  • GAME 10-State Play-In Game-Corvallis vs. Churchill:    The Spartan defense came up big early in the contest, stopping two Churchill drives deep in Spartan territory.  Meanwhile, the offense was productive as well scoring 3 td's before the Lancers were able to get on the board.  The Spartans answered with a long drive that set up a field goal right before the break.  In the second half, the Spartans added another field goal and a touchdown before allowing the Lancers in one last time.  Final score, 34-13.

  • GAME 9-Corvallis vs. West Albany:    The first half proved to be a defensive battle between these two long time rivals, which was easily identified by the halftime score which was more fitting of a baseball game, 3-2.  The third quarter was more of the same before the Bulldogs were able to punch in a score.  After a big kickoff return by Corvallis, a Spartan turnover set West Albany up with a short field for another score.  The Spartans were unable to mount enough of a comeback.  Final score, 6-14.

  • GAME 8-Corvallis vs. Lebanon:    The Warriors struck first in the first quarter before the Spartans managed to score in the second.  A the break, Corvallis had a 7-6 lead.  The defenses dominated the game in the third quarter before things got exciting in the fourth.  Lebanon rambled off a 57 yard run and a 2-pt conversion to take a 7 point lead early in the final period.  The Spartans weren't done yet though.  A score with just under 5 minutes to go knotted the game up at 14.  A huge defensive stop at mid-field on 4th and 1 gave the Spartans the ball with just over a minute to go.  This proved to be just enough time to set up a 27-yard field goal with 2.6 seconds on the clock.  Just as six weeks earlier, the snap was good, the hold was good, and the kick was right down the middle.  Final score, 17-14.

  • GAME 7-Corvallis vs. Silverton:    The Spartans got off to a quick start in the first half against the Foxes, taking a quick 16-0 lead.  However, Silverton was able to get back in to the game with a score right before the half to make it 16-7 at the break.  The Foxes scored on their first two possessions in the third quarter to take the lead.  Corvallis fought back and had a shot at the end, but fell short of the comeback.  Final score, 23-27.

  • GAME 6-Corvallis vs. Woodburn:    Corvallis continued their domination of the Woodburn program with another big defensive effort holding Woodburn well under their rushing average on the season.  The Spartan defense pitched a shutout for the second week in a row and even put some points on the board with a beautiful punt return.  Final score, 35-0.

  • GAME 5-Corvallis vs. Dallas:    Corvallis had yet another dominating performance on both sides of the ball in this league matchup.  Dallas was driving late in the 2nd quarter and on the verge of making it a game before the Spartan defense forced a fumble on there own 3 yard line with 1:25 left in the half.  That was plenty of time for Corvallis to go 97 yards and make it 28-0 at the break.  The Spartans stepped up the run game in the second half to keep the clock rolling.  Final score, 49-0.

  • GAME 4-Corvallis vs. Jefferson:    The Spartans defense was virtually impenetrable for 4 quarters which set up many short yardage situations for the offense and lots of scoring opportunities.  The Democrats did manage one long 47-yard run at the end of the game which brought there total yardage in the game into the positive. Final score, 52-6.

  • GAME 3-Corvallis vs. South Albany:    Corvallis came out strong right out of the gates and did not look back.  At the break, the Spartans were up 37-0 and the second half was more of the same.  The Rebels did manage to score, but not until Corvallis had the backups in.  Final score, 59-14.

  • GAME 2-Corvallis vs. Crescent Valley:  The Spartans came out strong in the first half, not giving up a Raider first down until mid-way in the 2nd quarter.  However, Corvallis still found themselves down at the break due to turnovers, 7-13. The Spartans battled back in the second half and took the lead early in the 4th quarter, 21-16.  After the Raiders took the lead back following a Spartan turnover, Corvallis drove 50 yards in the final 1:18 to set up a 43 yard field goal attempt with :05 to go on the clock.  The snap was good, the hold was good, and the kick was right down the middle.  Final score, 24-22.

  • GAME 1-Corvallis vs. Marist:  The Spartans kicked off the season against the preseason #1 ranked and 2010 5A runner up, Marist Spartans.  Marist jumped out quickly before Corvallis fought back to make the score 7-10 at the break.  In the third quarter, Marist scored again but had the extra point blocked.  Corvallis played well in the fourth quarter but there rally came up short.   Final score, 14-16.
